After a few weeks of waiting, I finally had Sharepoint
access to the manuscript with comments on areas needing revision and
additions. I tried unsuccessfully to
access the document in Sharepoint. Dr.
Szapkiw had advised me I could actually edit in the Internet Explorer browser
if I used Word 2010 and a newer Internet Explorer version. I kept trying to log into Sharepoint with my
LU access information, but nothing worked.
The research base continued to have little to offer toward e-textbooks. Additionally, end of the school year tasks
were taking much time to accomplish. I
had scheduled one day to assist my mentee with processing report cards and
other end of the year tasks. I misjudged
and we had to add an additional day to work side by side. It seemed there was little time to dig into
the manuscript, read the assignments for class, and read the additional trade
book for the webibliography. At this
same time, our oldest son graduated from high school, and my husband and I
celebrated our 20th anniversary.
Life itself was busy.
When I was able to get into Sharepoint, I was able to view
the areas I needed to address; however, I was hesitant to make any changes to
the manuscript. Dr. Szapkiw assured me
it was fine to edit, so I began at the beginning of the manuscript reading and
editing. Over those few weeks, it seemed
research on e-textbooks became prolific!
I found many new resources which seemed to arise from nowhere; there had
been so little available just a few weeks ago!
I began downloading more articles to review, and, while it was great to
have more resources, this put me behind in the editing process.
